Week 3 | Friday
Friday – Created for Good Works
Written by Skylar Pritt (The Chapel)
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.”
A friend of mine once asked, “What if I never figure out what I’m supposed to do with my life? What if I miss it?” He was so overwhelmed by the idea of calling that he felt paralyzed. We talked for a while, and I asked him, “What do you love doing?” He said, “Listening to people. I just like being there when they need someone.” I smiled and said, “Then maybe that’s part of it.”
Sometimes, we think God’s purpose has to be some huge, flashing sign, but Paul reminds us that we are His handiwork, created for good works—works He’s already prepared in advance. That means you don’t have to have every detail figured out. You just have to walk in faith, one step at a time. That means you just need to be faithful in taking the next right step. Whether it’s listening to a friend, making someone laugh, writing a note, or leading others, your life can reflect God’s design. He didn’t just save you to sit still—He saved you to step into something meaningful.
This truth can shift how we approach even the most ordinary day. When we remember that God has purpose woven into every moment, we stop seeing tasks and responsibilities as random happenstance and instead start seeing them as divine assignments.
Don’t underestimate what God wants to do through your life today, one small step at a time. He created you on purpose, with purpose.
Reflection Questions:
- Do you ever feel pressure to “figure out” God’s plan? If so, why and where do you feel it?
- What simple ways can you use your natural gifts to serve others?
- How does it change your mindset to know that God has already prepared good works for you?
- What is a simple next step of faithfulness you can take today?
- Thinking about your schedule and people coming across your path, what is something good God might be calling you to do?
Prayer Prompt:
“God, thank You that I don’t have to figure everything out. You already prepared good works for me. Help me walk with faith and confidence, knowing You’ve created me for a purpose.”
