Thursday – Displaying His Grace

Written by Skylar Pritt (The Chapel)

Ephesians 2:7–9

Key Verse: It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God…”

Do you have a keepsake that tells a story? Maybe it’s a photo, a worn-out Bible, or a cracked coffee mug from a meaningful moment. These items aren’t valuable because of what they are—they’re valuable because of what they represent. In the same way, you are a living reminder of God’s grace. Day in and day out. Let that sink in for a moment.

Grace is unearned. It’s the undeserved kindness of God, lavished on us not because of who we are but because of who He is. Paul emphasizes that our salvation is not the result of our efforts, achievements, or goodness—it is a gift. And what’s more, God saves us to showcase His grace. You are a living display, a walking testimony of the richness of God’s mercy and love. You are a keepsake of His grace and mercy.

This means your story matters. Your past doesn’t disqualify you—it highlights His glory. Every failure, every weakness, every place of brokenness becomes a canvas where grace paints redemption. God is the hero of your story—not you. And that takes the pressure off. You don’t have to prove yourself today. You simply have to receive, respond, and rest in the gift you’ve been given. You don’t have to be enough because Jesus is.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Think about the statement that “you are a keepsake of His grace and mercy.” What words come to mind that describe your thoughts and feelings?
  2. In what specific ways has your life displayed God’s grace to others?
  3. How can you embrace your story as a testimony of God’s goodness?
  4. How much pressure do you feel to be perfect or to get it all right?
  5. If life in Jesus is about His grace and mercy, how should you think and act when you feel this pressure to be perfect or get it all right?

Prayer Prompt:

“Father, thank You for the gift of salvation. Use my life as a story that points others to Your grace.”
