Disaster Response Trip – Louisiana

October 9, 2021

Grace Fellowship will Partner with Samaritan’s Purse to provide disaster response October 9-15 for those in Louisiana affected by Hurricane Ida.

Hurricane Ida brutalized southeastern Louisiana August 29-30, leaving several people dead and knocking out power for more than 1 million people, including the entire city of New Orleans. Fierce winds caused extensive damage while heavy rains and storm surge brought severe flooding, which remains an ongoing threat for the region.

Volunteers participating in this disaster relief trip will assist homeowners with mud outs, roof tarpings, debris cleanup, and chainsaw work. No special training is needed to volunteer; all training is provided during orientation and is followed up onsite by your Site Team Leader.

Meals and sleeping quarters are provided for overnight volunteers housed at a local church. All staff and volunteers will strictly adhere to COVID-19 federal and local guidelines to ensure their safety and the safety of homeowners and residents.

The deadline to sign up for this trip is Friday, October 1. Participants must be 18 or older, and the cost is $100 per person.

The trip is currently FULL.
