What is MIX?

MIX is specifically designed for incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students. At MIX, your students will experience high-energy worship, age-intentional Bible teaching, community with their friends and adult leaders, and a practical call to Kingdom Work, all centered around the fun and chaos that is middle school ministry.

The price of MIX covers all meals, lodging, and transportation!

Students will be with their 678 small group for MIX and will have small group discussions after each session. For incoming 6th graders, MIX is their first chance to spend time with their leaders and other students in their group.

We believe middle school students absolutely have to play. We want to provide the time and space to do that through the classics and some originals: gaga-ball, 9-square, a dodgeball tournament, and The Outer Realm. The Outer Realm is a place where massive group games are played with a range of students – from 300 to 1,200 at a time. Playing in the Outer Realm helps a student connect to their fellow students and adult leaders and create amazing memories together. Our prayer is that an experience on the field can lead to better conversations in their group time. MIX will assign your group one of four team colors/mascots a few weeks before your event. While it’s not required to wear your team color, it’s a great way for your students to have fun at MIX!

Packing List

Here's what you should be prepared to bring to MIX:

  • Bible
  • Notebook & pencil/pen
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Clothing for FOUR days, including travel time:
    • TWO sets of clothing for days 2, 3, & 4
    • ONE set of clothing for each of these days should be suitable for getting wet/dirty
    • sleepwear
    • jeans & a lightweight jacket for the possibility of cool evenings
    • appropriate swimwear/cover-up
  • Colored apparel
    • The camp will be split into four different colored teams – red, blue, green, and yellow. As the event gets closer, we will let you know which team you’re on! Make sure to bring plenty of clothing in your team’s color!
  • Shoes
    • Comfortable shoes for walking and sessions
    • Shoes for getting wet
    • Flip flops
  • Bedding (sheets for a twin bed, blanket or sleeping bag, pillow)
  • Towels for showering AND swimming
  • Washcloths
  • Toiletries (soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste)
  • Prescription medications (to be handled by your adult leader)
  • Sunblock & bug spray
  • Camera
  • Money for travel, the MIX store, offering, etc
  • Athletic equipment for recreation time (optional)
