Hello Grace Group Leaders! Here’s what you need to know as we get ready to launch groups:

Why Team Leadership?

Group leadership is not a solo sport! The best groups have a team of people that help pull off group life! The most effective Grace Groups are the ones that have given away meaningful ownership of group responsibilities to multiple people in the group. This is different for each group. There are a couple of important reasons why we want every Grace Group to be led by a team of people. 

  1. Group Ownership – The more people own the success and health of a group, the more likely people will engage in the group faithfully and regularly.  
  2. Group Effectiveness – The more leaders invest in the group, the more people grow spiritually.  
  3. Leader Longevity – The more people that carry the load of leadership, the longer leaders last!  
  4. Leadership Multiplication – Team leadership is easier to recruit new leaders to than recruiting an apprentice leader to start their own group. Groups with teams of leaders also have much better outcomes when they multiply because of growth. 

Also, please remember your campus group staff is also a great resource to help you, encourage you and support you as you lead your group.

Healthy Reminders for Group Leaders

  • Remember the most important thing you need to have as a group leader is a healthy, vibrant, growing relationship with Jesus yourself! This will affect everything you do as a leader and will flow out of you to your group members.
  • Please take attendance each time your group meets.
  • Please keep your rosters current.
  • Please push your group member toward their next steps of faith.
  • Please chase those who begin to drift out of group.
  • Please be in touch with your campus group/discipleship team. They want to help you, support you and encourage you throughout the year.

LEAD – Small Group Leader App

Download LEAD, the Small Group Leader app from CCB. This app allows you to take or edit attendance, send messages to your group, access a group list at all times, and also access a list of group members’ birthdays and anniversaries. *When installing, use CCB Church Prefix “YourGraceChurch” to set up the app on your device.
